Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) established in September 2010 is a partnership between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The school operates from two campuses - Yunnan Campus at Nanyang Technological University and a new campus to be built at Novena. Our primary healthcare partner is the National Healthcare Group (NHG) which comprises an integrated network of primary healthcare polyclinics, acute care hospitals such as Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and national specialist centres. LKCMedicine delivers a new five-year undergraduate medical programme leading to a joint MBBS degree awarded by Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University.

We are currently recruiting a Research Assistant / Research Officer who will be working closely with Dr Kevin Pethe as part of a large interdisciplinary team.

The appointed Research Assistant will assist studies to evaluate the potency and pharmacokinetics of therapeutic phages in animal models of bacterial infections

The Research Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities.

1-2 years of experience as a research assistant /research officer in a microbiology field (BSL-2 or BSL-3) is required. Experience with in vivo work (rodents) is also required.

Job responsibilities:

- Support research projects
- Evaluate bacteriophages in animal models of infection
- Support general lab management

Skills & qualifications:
- Bachelor in Biological/Biomedical Sciences with expertise in bacteriology or infectious diseases (BSL-2).- At least 1 years’ experience as Research Assistant or Research Officer- Expertise in tissue culture, bacteriology, molecular biology and animal work
