Director, AUD Rates Trader, Global Markets and Treasury Dept, APD Join to apply for the Director, AUD Rates Trader role at SMBC Group. Responsibilities Primary responsibility for AUD trading and market making to the customer base during Asian time‑zone. Back‑up other traders in the team (may be required to support JPY/USD/SGD/EM products as backup trader). Market analysis to implement hedge strategies. Trading and managing positions and executions in compliance with market‑making obligations and risk limits. Liaise with various parties and departments (sales, traders, management, risk control, back office, IT etc.) to resolve issues and implement solutions. Maintain market intelligence: clear view on client segment, activity and industry trends to optimize and maximize revenue generation and client coverage. Convey market intelligence, relevant regulatory, legal and tax knowledge to internal stakeholders and decision makers. Ensure client business continuity and effective teamwork within local and global requirements. Qualifications Deep AUD market trading experience. 10+ years managing an AUD/NZD IRS/CCS trading book during the Sydney trading session with a proven track record of success. Quantitative degree (Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Engineering) or equivalent demonstrable skill set. Strong knowledge of fixed‑income products with a specialization in interest‑rate swaps and CCS. Proven experience building strategies for trading and risk management. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive trading colour and present trading ideas and strategies. Excellent networker comfortable liaising with clients, sales and traders.
