My client company is looking for a bending operator that is responsible for operating and maintaining machines that bend or shape metal or other materials into specific forms or angles.

Job Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation:

  • Set up and operate bending machines such as press brakes, tube benders, or CNC bending machines.
  • Adjust machine settings like speed, pressure, and angle to meet the specifications for the required bend.
  • Ensure that the correct dies or tools are used for the job.

2. Material Handling:

  • Select and load materials (typically metal sheets, rods, or tubes) into the machine.
  • Measure and cut the materials to the correct size before bending.
  • Inspect the material for defects before starting the bending process.

3. Quality Control:

  • Check and verify the bend angle and dimensions of the material after each bend to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform visual checks for surface defects or imperfections.

4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on the bending machines to ensure they are operating efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and address machine malfunctions or inaccuracies during the bending process.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring the machines are in good working order.

5. Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or work orders to understand the specifications for the bend.
  • Follow specific instructions on angles, radius, and types of bends required.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries while operating bending machines.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety goggles, and ear protection.
    Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
