Job Title: Marine Propulsion Mechanical Service Specialist

The Marine Propulsion Mechanical Service Specialist is responsible for performing a range of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services. This includes planning, troubleshooting, diagnosing and minor repair of major OEM marine propulsion equipment. Field service reports are generated with photos of before and after repairs for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission new gearboxes at the yard, basin and sea trials.
  • Interpret electrical drawings and perform basic fault diagnosis on electrical systems with minimal guidance.
  • Support the Workshop Manager in preparing quotations for purchasing spares for repairs and overhauls.
  • Lead daily Tool Box meetings to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety practices.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required in the workshop.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least three years of experience in the Marine Industry in propulsion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot propulsion-related equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Required to travel overseas for assignments.
  • Deployable within a short notice period.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
