AI Jobs is hiring a Japanese Language Consultant to support a leading AI research company in refining its Japanese language models. The role involves applying deep linguistic and cultural expertise to improve naturalness, accuracy, and contextual understanding in AI-generated Japanese content. This is a part-time consulting opportunity ideal for professionals passionate about Japanese language, culture, and communication technologies. Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on Japanese language nuances , regional dialects, and accents. Evaluate and refine AI-generated Japanese text for cultural authenticity, tone, and fluency . Interpret idiomatic expressions, slang, and context to enhance model performance. Collaborate with English‐speaking engineers and researchers to ensure linguistic precision and consistency . Advise on trends in Japanese media, culture, and language evolution to maintain model relevance. Ideal Qualifications Native‐level fluency in Japanese and professional‐level proficiency in English. In‐depth understanding of regional variations in speech and culture. Familiarity with Japanese media, pop culture, and current events . Strong ability to explain linguistic subtleties to non‐native speakers. Experience in linguistics, localization, translation, or cultural consulting preferred. Commitment: 5–10 hours per week Engagement Type: Hybrid – in‐person collaboration required at one of the client's offices: San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, London, or Singapore Flexibility: Occasional remote work permitted Schedule: Includes synchronous meetings with the AI research team Compensation & Contract Rate: $35–$50 per hour
