Engineer – Waste-to-Energy / Waste Management Facility

Location: Tuas South (shuttle bus available)
Salary Range: SGD 2,700 – 7,000
Employment Type: 1-year contract (permanent conversion depending on performance)

About the Project

Be part of one of Singapore's most significant national waste management infrastructure projects – a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy (WTE) and waste management facility that is currently under construction. This large-scale development is expected to play a crucial role in safeguarding Singapore's environmental sustainability and long-term waste management needs.

The plant is currently in its commissioning phase and targeted for operations commencement in early 2026. Successful candidates will have the rare opportunity to be trained, contribute, and grow with the project from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of WTE and waste management systems.
  • Assist in conducting technical inspections, fault analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to operations, safety, and compliance.
  • Participate in commissioning, testing, and handover activities for plant readiness.
  • Work closely with engineers and senior officers to ensure plant reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree holders: Open to fresh graduates.
  • Nitec holders: At least 6 years of relevant working experience in engineering/plant operations.
  • Strong interest in environmental sustainability, energy systems, or industrial plant operations.
  • Willingness to work in Tuas South (shuttle transport provided).
  • Able to work shifts (after training/attachment period).

Training & Work Schedule

  • Officers will undergo foundation training modules on waste management facility operations, followed by on-the-job training at Tuas South.
  • Deployment may be in normal office hours initially, with potential transition to shift work once operations commence.

Shift details (if deployed to shift):

  • 12-hour rotating shift cycle (including weekends & public holidays).
  • 5 rest days within every 15-day cycle.

Current Working Hours (before shift deployment):

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Shuttle services provided from Serangoon, Jurong East, Tuas West & Joo Koon.

Timeline

  • September 2025: Applications consolidation & shortlisting.
  • October – November 2025: 2 rounds of interviews (on-site at Tuas South).
  • Early 2026: Commencement of employment (tentatively January).
