Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Naval Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing hull and deck structure strength assessments, including evaluation of hatch covers and above-deck stowage of heavy and project cargo.

They will also propose and design structural reinforcement and load-spreading solutions for specialty cargo securing.

In addition, they will prepare and deliver technical documentation, including lashing & securing calculations, stowage, securing & dunnage plans, heavy lifting & rigging plans, and structural analysis reports and drawings.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Classification Societies, Owners, Charterers, and Shippers to resolve disputes or technical queries on ship strength, load spreading, or cargo securing.

They will use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for structural simulation and validation of cargo securing solutions.

Continuous improvement is key, so the successful candidate will seek opportunities to optimize designs and reduce operational costs while maintaining safety and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively
  • Proficiency in using software such as AutoCAD and Femap/Nastran
  • Experience working with classification societies and regulatory bodies
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or a related field
