Singapore MPA Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Full time

You will be part of a dynamic team that catalyses the transformation of the maritime industry through the development of a vibrant innovation ecosystem. The Maritime Innovation Ecosystem (MIE) team supports the overarching objectives as follows:
a) Develop the marinetech innovation ecosystem through collaboration with partners such as start-ups, researchers, venture capital, industry players and government agencies.

b) Building up technological capabilities within our local maritime industry in key niche areas;
c) Building a world-class port and port services that are smarter, safer, more efficient & sustainable;
d) Transforming the maritime sector into a highly productive and innovative cluster by leveraging leading-edge technology.

As part of the MIE team, your key duties and responsibilities include:

- Drive Living Lab initiatives such as maritime data hub, maritime innovation lab, maritime drone estates and development of regulatory guidelines, processes and sandboxes for autonomous vessels/vehicles, so as to promote Maritime Singapore as test-bedding ground for marinetech solutions/products
- Drive PIER71 (Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined) start-up initiative and collaboration with NUS Enterprise
- Drive awareness and collaboration partnerships for Smart Port Challenge (start-up competitions and match-make with maritime corporates and investors)
- Grow technology networks and linkages with other major maritime clusters and partners
- Work with other agencies and organisations on joint innovation initiatives
- Identify upcoming and relevant maritime technology trends, developments & R&D
- Promote Singapore as the top maritime innovation hub to industry players
- Drive the development and promotion of the maritime digital & technology marketplace for marinetech start-ups and tech companies
- Engage industry partners regularly to support their developmental needs in Singapore
- Administer the MINT-STARTUP project grants to PIER71 and partners’ start-ups

**Requirements**:

- Have the relevant training and industry experience in information & communication technology (ICT), engineering, finance or business administration. Experience in maritime and port industry is preferred.
- He/she should have experience working with/in technology start-ups, venture capitals or research institutions.
- Be an effective communicator and presenter, competent in both spoken and written English, and able to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
- Possess strong people skills, design thinking skill, and a passion for technology and innovation, meeting people and selling ideas.
