System Engineer

As part of our IT Infrastructure team, the incumbent will support & contribute to the IT enterprise architecture, capacity planning, design, evaluation, and deployment of IT systems, covering network equipment, IT services, applications, productivity and collaboration technologies. The Opportunity Design, implement, manage, and monitor all installed IT systems, Network, Cloud Infrastructure Proactively monitor and protect system boundaries, patch release status, and keeping systems and networks hardened against attacks, ensure the highest levels of systems, network and infrastructure availability Maintain high level of Network/System Service Availability Collaborate with Product / Application teams on the design, provision and implementation of infrastructure. Drive the design of network infrastructure, information and operational support systems. Maintain and upkeep the design structure on changes. Perform hardware and software installations, configurations and updates as needed Implement and maintain network/system security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies Provide 2nd level support and work with other teams for problem resolution Liaise and work with vendors and subcontractors verifying deliverables and do follow-ups with issues Supports periodic audit exercises and follows up with the remediation actions to close all audit findings Ensuring defined IT compliance processes and policies (Operations, Communications, Services and Security) are met. Maintaining up-to-date documentation, configuration, Operating Procedures and reports Constantly looking for improvement/enhancement initiatives on the quality of IT operations and maintenance. Job Requirements The Candidate: Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering or related At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the capacity of System Engineer ideally in a medium-large size organization In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, Wireless, etc Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, etc. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus. Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas: Windows, Network (Wireless, LAN & WAN), Firewall – Fortigate, VMware, AWS, O365, AD, OKTA, as well as SolarWinds Experience in cyber security hygiene and processes Experience in Project Management, ITIL and service desks preferred Good communicator with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment to engage and motivate team members Ability to multi-task, possess good communication skills, a service-oriented mindset and has an approachable personality Positive attitude and able to work well with culturally and geographically diverse teams Working experience in IT Service / System Integrator, multi-cloud environment and experience in project management and database would be added advantage About the Company A member of the Jardine Cycle & Carriage Group, C&C is one of the leading automotive groups in Singapore.
