Physical Failure Analysis Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) expert to join our team. As a PFA expert, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive physical failure analysis support for product qualifications, new product introductions, and general failures from high volume manufacturing.

  • You will be the subject matter expert on physical failure analysis methodology and tool, driving and sustaining 6S with safety protocols as the first guiding principle.
  • Certify and comply with lab/chemical safety protocols, operate FA tools including but not limited to: Ion Millers, FIB/EDX, SEM, 2D/3D X-ray, X-section, planar grinding and other Lab tools.
  • You will be a strong problem solver covering interdependent process relationships between device layout architecture, fabrication process, and assembly packaging process.

In this role, you will:

  • Present findings and provide insights on possible fail models to assist manufacturing process owners in finding and fixing root causes.
  • Improve the failure analysis process to reduce lead time or turn-around-time (TAT), and increase failure mechanism assignment accuracy and consistency.
  • Lead a group of PFA technicians supporting the PFA operation, over-time and expenses management (consumable, tool maintenance, CAPEX for new tool if needed).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Material/Electrical/Electronic or equivalent, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Physical Failure Analysis subject matter expert experience.
  • Lab equipment management and regulatory compliance experience.
