Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager leads the project team through the project by establishing governance that befits the needs of the project. They develop a plan that maximizes value to the stakeholders, ensure the execution of that plan and track the team’s performance against it. The senior project manager ensures that the project is optimised to prioritise value within balanced constraints and manages expectations through complex environments. Responsibilities Define and oversee project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility for large-scale, complex projects. Ensure that any commitments made are feasible and achievable. Develop, maintain, and adapt detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and objectives. Organise project tasks and allocate resources, ensuring that significant projects are successfully delivered on-time, within scope, and budget. Implement and maintain the project governance structure, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and standards, adapting to the needs of each project. Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate change control processes and tools. Collect, rationalise, analyse, and utilise multiple points of project data to inform decision-making and drive project performance. Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Develop and maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring project deliverables meet the required quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and resolve issues across significant or complex projects, maintaining a risk register and issue log. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders, managing their expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Define, manage and realise project benefits, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and customer business needs. Ensure seamless project handover to operations, including training and support documentation. Education, Qualifications and Certifications Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, management or engineering. Professional Project Management and Agile certification (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master)8 years+ experience in project management, experience in Financial Services Industry would be an advantage. Language skills – Fluent English required, both spoken and written; Prefer Chinese or Cantonese speaking would be an advantage. Essential Skills and Knowledge Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (predictive, hybrid and Agile), tools, and techniques with the ability to adapt and tailor governance arrangements to the needs of individual project needs. Ability to see the big picture and think strategically, to efficiently manage priorities as they arise Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar. Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
