Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cost-effective maintenance of LNG vessels and their equipment, ensuring safe, delay-free operation and compliance with flag state administration and applicable class and industrial standards.

The Technical Superintendent will oversee the maintenance of vessel deck and engine planned maintenance systems, monitor and arrange statutory and classification surveys, coordinate the supply of stores, supplies, spares, and consumables, and coordinate repairs, defect rectifications, and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vessel deck and engine planned maintenance systems
  • Monitor and arrange statutory and classification surveys
  • Coordinate the supply of stores, supplies, spares, and consumables
  • Coordinate repairs, defect rectifications, and modifications
  • Monitor adherence to company standards and charterer requirements
  • Assist in controlling and monitoring costs relevant to the technical department
  • Maintain and upkeep technical manuals, drawings, and catalogs from makers and yards
  • Attend shipyard and classification societies in technical matters
  • Verify documentation and certifications of new buildings/deliveries
  • Lead the accident/incident investigation related to technical matters such as equipment and failure/malfunction if required
  • Carry out annual vessel technical inspection/audit onboard as scheduled
  • Assist the Group Technical manager in the running of the technical department

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 6 months experience as Chief Engineer or experience for more than 3 years as senior engineer on LNG Motor vessels
  • A valid Engine COC holder
  • Knowledge of ISM, EMS,PMS, Repairs and Dry-Docking repairs
  • Good technical knowledge about various marine machinery
  • Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Knowledge of propulsion plant and power systems onboard assigned vessels

Desirable Qualifications:

Prior experience with XDF vessels and overhauling skills of an XDF Engine and DF generators is highly desirable.
