">Description:
  • The role of the Technical Superintendent involves overseeing the cost-effective maintenance of LNG vessels and their equipment to ensure safe, delay-free operation and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • This includes monitoring and maintaining the vessel deck and engine planned maintenance system, arranging statutory and classification surveys, coordinating the supply of stores and spares, and overseeing repairs and modifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain vessel deck and engine planned maintenance systems.
  • Arrange statutory and classification surveys for vessels.
  • Coordinate the supply of stores, supplies, spares, and consumables.
  • Oversee repairs, defect rectifications, and modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and charterer requirements.
  • Assist in controlling and monitoring costs relevant to the technical department.
  • Maintain and upkeep technical manuals, drawings, and catalogs from makers and yards.
  • Attend shipyard and classification societies in technical matters.
  • Verify documentation and certifications of new buildings/deliveries.
  • Lead accident/incident investigations related to technical matters.
  • Carry out annual vessel technical inspection/audit onboard as scheduled.
  • Assist the Group Technical manager in the running of the technical department.

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience as Chief Engineer or 3+ years as senior engineer on LNG Motor vessels.
  • Valid Engine COC holder.
  • Knowledge of ISM, EMS, PMS, Repairs, and Dry-Docking repairs.
  • Good technical knowledge about various marine machinery.
  • Desire to drive continuous improvement in self and others.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of propulsion plant and power systems onboard assigned vessels.
