Singtel and Singapore Institute of Technology have launched a Work-Study Programme (WSP) called "The Catalyst Programme" in Feb 2023. This structured on-the-job (OJT) development programme allows Polytechnic Diploma holders to secure a full-time position with Singtel while pursuing a university honours degree in BEng Infrastructure and Systems Engineering. The programme is open to both Singtel's internal employees and external polytechnic diploma holders, preferably from the Engineering domain. Make an Impact by
Working closely with Subject Matter Experts to develop, plan, and implement effective maintenance schedules to enhance equipment lifespan and strive for zero downtime.
Managing system maintenance programs to ensure system operation reliability.
Coordinating with OEMs and vendors for effective maintenance and breakdown activities.
Developing project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitoring progress; ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets; and identifying and mitigating risks to ensure project success.
Implementing tech refresh programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan, including scheduling inspections, cleaning, and servicing.
Supporting sustainability goals by reducing waste and carbon emissions.
Promoting a culture of safety and adherence to health and safety protocols in electrical engineering activities.
Analyzing technical issues to identify root causes and implementing mitigation plans to prevent repeated incidents.
Providing support during emergencies and critical events.
Developing contingency plans for ACMV system failures or emergencies, coordinating with stakeholders to restore services promptly.
Planning and maintaining building facilities, plumbing, sewage systems, water tanks, and storage tanks, and coordinating repairs within stipulated times.
Coordinating with building construction vendors to address water seepages and leakages.
Ensuring fire protection systems are regularly inspected, tested, and maintained to meet regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams for maintenance and project execution.
Collecting data from systems and reporting to SMEs.
Skills for Success
A diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or Building Services.
Ability to work effectively with teams and vendors.
Self-driven, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
