Occupational Therapist Job Purpose: You shall be responsible for assessing and identifying individual needs of students &/or trainees with occupational therapy issues and concerns. You will also formulate, develop and customise appropriate occupational therapy programs for the students &/or trainees. Key Responsibilities: - Carry out assessments in relation to occupational needs of the students and document reports - Formulate and facilitate intervention for students in the area of motor and processing skills - Evaluate therapy progress and outcomes with the use of selected therapy outcome measures at regular intervals (every 6 months). - Conduct Vocational Profiling Assessment for students to match their skills and interests to the appropriate vocational track - Conduct Community Partner Workshops such as Employers Education to create awareness for employers who are working and supporting persons with ASD and Mild Intellectual Disability (MID) - Planning and facilitate group programs - Conduct work site assessment to determine suitability for placement of students - Conduct work place site visits to support students on OST (On-Site Training) and WEP (Work Experience Program) - Provide Supervision and mentorship of OTA /OT Student Intern/ Conditional Registered OT - Administrative Duties: – Digitization of OT reports – Documentation of clinical duties Job Requirements: - Degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent (preferably recognised by the Allied Health Professional Council) - Preferred at least 2 years clinical experience; Entry Level Candidates are welcomed to apply. - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Commitment and motivation to work with young persons with special needs and their caregivers. - Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills - Relevant work experience with children and young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage - Ability to work with minimum supervision Work locations: APSN Katong School (Do indicate your preferred work locations during application) Speech & Language Therapist Job Purpose You shall be responsible for the speech language programme for students &/or trainees with oral communication challenges including evaluation of all students &/or trainees with suspected or identified communication disorders and the development, management and coordination of a speech and language programme, including difficulty in swallowing. Key Responsibilities Consultation - Provide professional inputs to support understanding of clients’ speech, language and communication difficulties to teachers, parents/caregivers, professional staff, administrators and the public. - Participate in collaborative problem-solving to assist teachers, parents / caregivers, professional staff and administrators with practical ideas and recommendations in the setting of goals, selection and design of intervention programs, etc. Assessment - Provide screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services for students/trainees with speech and language disorders. - Measure outcomes of treatment and conduct continuous evaluation - Identify effective practices and programs to improve and enhance quality of services. - Able to apply formal and informal modes of assessment. - Maintain efficient client records and documentation. i.e. Assessment reports filing in students’ confidential file. Treatment Strategies - Implement intervention program based on assessment, interpretation and planning. - The Speech and Language Therapists should write a discharge based on the following: – Documented evidence showing that the student has achieved all the objectives or the students can no longer benefit from the therapy. – The student to be discharge from therapy services if he/she leaves the school. – Recommend other services, if applicable to the student and other family members. – Refer and write a discharge summary, if necessary, when the student is going to another service or an APSN School. Training and Support - Train and support teachers, caregivers and other communication partners of individuals with speech, language, communication difficulties. - Mentor and supervise of support personnel. Job Requirements - Recognized degree in Speech Pathology from accredited college/ university with 3 to 5 years speech therapy experience - Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills - Relevant work experience ranging from children to young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage - Ability to work with independently and with minimum supervision - Valid practising certificate with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) - Entry level candidates who recently completed the studies in Speech Pathology are welcome to apply. Psychologist Job Purpose: The psychologist is expected to provide a full range of evidence-based and best practices in psychological services to students including conduct psychological assessments, deliver interventions and manage crisis situations. You are also function as a member of the allied professional team to collaborate with stakeholders, maintain professional and ethical standards, undertake research and continuous improvement and uplift professional practice of psychology in education. Key Responsibilities: Psychological Assessment for (i) school admission, (ii) programme placement, (iii) identification of socio-emotional and behavioural needs, (iv) progress monitoring, (v) mental capacity for assisted deputyship application programme. - Conduct vocational profiling and facilitate the combination of report meeting - Conduct admission screening to ensure fitted school placement - Select and administer screening and assessment tools (e.g. BASC, mood disorder checklist) - Select and administer standardised psychological assessment for mental capacity assessment - Prepare assessment resources and protocol for mental capacity assessments so as to contextualise to the needs of the student - Prepare assessment report including scoring and interpretation - Make recommendation and conclusion based on assessment results - Guide junior psychologist in psychological assessments including selection, test administration, and report writing Provide Psychological Interventions for students referred for socio-emotional and behavioural needs. - Conduct individual intervention - Conduct group intervention - Guide junior psychologist in case conceptualisation, treatment planning and progress monitoring - Lead in the design and crafting of group intervention Manage Crisis - Recognise signs and symptoms of distress - Provide crisis intervention - Make recommendation for follow-up actions after the crisis - Guide junior psychologist in crisis intervention including recognising signs and symptoms of distress, soft-skills to de-escalate students in distress, and conduct risk assessment - Conduct psychological debriefing session after the crisis Provide training to stakeholders - Conduct specialised training (e.g. CARE Kit training, Understanding self-harm behaviour) - Lead in the design and customisation of training to meet needs of stakeholders - Collect and collate of data to measure training effectiveness - Evaluate and review effectiveness of training design to ensure overall training objectives are met Perform Clinical Supervision - Provide guidance to junior staff on assessment, case intervention so as to adhere to both organisational and psychological guidelines Leadership - Provide thought leadership in the design of the various portfolios in psychology discipline - Provide ongoing guidance to junior psychologist or intern in their key responsibilities and functions - Digitization of reports - Documentation of clinical duties - Assist in preparing and submitting Key Review Area (KRA) and targets to AP Manager - Carry out other administrative duties assigned by AP Manager Job Requirements: - Possess a Masters in Applied Psychology/ Clinical Psychology from an accredited university and be registered/eligible for registration with SRP or an equivalent professional body. - Possess a minimum of 5 years of work related experience with relevant exposure in the area of intellectual disability or other related disabilities. - Expertise and familiarity in conducting and interpreting psychological assessment - Proficient in a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions - Skilled in crisis intervention and management - Ability to provide training to stakeholders - Dedicated to ongoing professional development through clinical supervision - Provide leadership in assigned initiatives - Ability to work collaboratively with other allied professionals in the department and with teachers and caregivers Work locations: APSN Katong School (Do indicated your preferred work locations during application) Social Worker Job Purpose: You shall be responsible for family/individual counselling, group work, assessment and recommendations for financial assistance and case management. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and conduct lessons - Supervise students and manage pupil behaviours in the classroom and on school premises, to inculcate school values and enforce discipline - Support in student and staff programmes/ activities, in the areas of planning and implementation. - Participate in staff meetings, school wide training events and school programmes. - Create teaching resources where necessary, to complement current pool of resources. - Collaborate and consult with allied professionals, parents/caregivers and external agencies to ensure quality support and well-being of students - Prepare reports on a needs basis, on issues relating to student issues such as injuries and discipline. - Establish home-school communication with parents to support students’ progress - Implement department work plan strategies to meet school strategic thrusts - Any other duties requested by the Reporting Officer. Qualifications and Other Requirements: - Diploma/ Degree from recognised Polytechnics and Universities with GCE ‘O’ level credits in English and Mathematics - Candidates holding a Diploma in Special Education, Certificate/ Diploma / Degree in Education, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education awarded by the National Institute of Education are preferred - Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word) - Good interpersonal skills, classroom management skills and effective communication - Strong in verbal and written English - Prior experience with Students with Mid Intellectual Disabilities (MID) is preferred - Prior experience handling Numeracy/ Literacy, Physical Education, WPLN, Science, HSR, SEL/ CCE and Vocational Guidance is an added advantage. - Must be able to commit to:– 6 to 8 months tenure for the year 2025. – The full curriculum schedule required by the respective schools, ranging from 6 to 8 hours per day (part-time positions are not available).
