**What the role is**
- The Office of the Director-General of Social Welfare (ODGSW) seeks to ensure that vulnerable groups such as children, women, elderly and the destitute are protected from harm.

**What you will be working on**
- PSW undertakes a strategic role in identifying emerging trends and highlighting policy and operational implications; reviewing and articulating policies on social welfare and development; and providing policy and administrative support to DGSW in the professional development of social workers/social service practitioners as well as sector development.
PSW also drives oversight on practice related matters for the various sectors managing cases of individuals and families, to ensure that the needs and welfare of these individuals and families are attended to.

**Responsibilities**:

- Drive the conduct of Practice Observations in Family Service Centres (FSCs) to assess their competencies and areas of needs
- Drive practice standards and build competencies of workers on delivery of services
- Provide guidance and consultation on development of FSC policies to drive and support service delivery
- Liaise and engage with FSCs and other stakeholders involved in the case management of individuals and families
- Provide guidance and consultation on FSC service delivery expectations
- Provide consultation on case management of complex and risk related concerns in cases
- Facilitate engagements with ground workers in understanding their challenges and needs
- Develop guides and training related materials on practice
- Provide guidance and consultation on general practice related matters and reduction of harm to vulnerable persons

**What we are looking for**
- Degree in social work, Graduate Diploma in social work (Postgraduate)
- Experience in leading a team and possess strong writing skills
- Skills and knowledge on the management of cases with risk and safety concerns
- Recognise challenges at the community level and advocate for changes that would result in best outcomes for clients
- Strong analytical skills with strength on analysis of cases and issues on the ground
- Collaboration with policy divisions and community agencies, with good communication skills to engage with professional leaders in the community
