Our shared mission is to amplify, augment and accelerate the Home Team’s advantage and secure Singapore as the safest place on planet earth.The Applied Vision-AI R&D Engineer will be part of a dynamic engineering team that designs and develops AI-related solutions for Home Team use cases. We are looking for aspiring candidates with a passion for problem solving and solution development to fulfil a role in Applied R&D for Vision-AI who is proactive and is able to design and develop machine learning/deep learning based AI solutions with good software engineering experience. He/she will be working with product managers, project managers, and different stakeholders to build capabilities for our Home Team officers.
What you will be working on:
Develop/train machine learning / deep learning AI models or large/multi-modal models to address Home Team use casesHandle data pre-processing and annotation for model training and developmentWorking closely with the software engineers to write production quality code and deploy computer vision related solution for use by Home Team on either Cloud Platform (GCC) or local machineWork closely with Product Management team to translate product requirements into machine learning / deep learning model requirementsContinually optimise performance of in-house developed AI solution through hyperparameter tuning, increase run-time efficiency and reduce computational costsDocument and communicate deep learning model design to different technical stakeholdersProvide technical advisory and review related technical articles to support key business decision and project decision makingKeep abreast of new AI technologies development and continuously improve HTxAI’s AI engineering capabilityCollaborate with external partners to co-develop novel AI solutions or enhance existing in-house solutionsLearn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally
What we are looking for:
Undergraduate / Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any relevant areas4-5 years of Software Engineering experience with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in AI model training and application. Candidates with experience in Python are strongly preferredExperience with open-source frameworks such as OpenCV, Pytorch and Tensorflow.Candidates with experience in Vision-AI models or knowledge in Large model are preferredAble to develop AI applications and deploy the applications using docker containers with RESTful APIsAble to do Bash and PowerShell Scripting on Linux Operating systemPractical experience with Cloud environmentAble to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams multi-disciplinary / multi-agencies teamsAble to communicate technical concepts and conduct demos in a clear and effective manner to stakeholders of varying technical backgroundKnowledge of emerging AI-related technologies and trendsSelf-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonusApplicants with more than 5 years’ relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions**** All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
