Finance Manager – Japan Business (Bilingual - English / Japanese). Location: Singapore (covering Icon Consulting Group Japan operations). Reports To: Regional Finance Director / Country Manager – Japan.
Icon Consulting Group is a specialist provider of SAP staffing and consulting solutions across APAC. Our Japan business has grown rapidly, delivering staff augmentation and SAP project delivery. We are looking for an experienced
Finance Manager
to oversee all financial operations for our Japan entity while being based in Singapore.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for Icon Consulting Group’s Japan operations. This includes statutory compliance, budgeting, financial reporting, and business partnering with our Japan leadership team. The role requires
fluency in Japanese
and strong familiarity with Japan’s corporate finance, tax, and payroll regulations, while collaborating closely with our Singapore HQ.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the Japan business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Japan GAAP and local tax regulations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring timely submission to management and relevant authorities.
Consolidate Japan entity results into group reporting in accordance with corporate standards.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting for the Japan business.
Monitor financial performance against budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations to management.
Compliance & Audit
Ensure compliance with Japanese tax laws, social insurance, payroll regulations, and statutory filing requirements.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other professional advisors in Japan.
Business Partnering
Act as a finance business partner to the Japan Managing Director, providing financial insights to support commercial decisions.
Support sales and operations teams with client contracts, pricing models, and cost control initiatives.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Manage cash flow forecasting, intercompany transactions, and banking relationships for the Japan business.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Fluency in Japanese and English
(spoken and written) is mandatory.
Minimum 5–7 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Japan-focused role.
Strong understanding of Japanese accounting standards, tax regulations, and payroll practices.
Prior experience in a professional services, consulting, or staffing environment is highly advantageous.
Proficient in ERP/accounting systems and MS Excel.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across borders.
