Faculty Position in Art History

We are seeking an accomplished academic to join our institution as a Faculty Member in Art History. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting art-historical research, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and contributing to the development of curriculum.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified individual to contribute to the growth and success of our School of Humanities. The successful candidate will have a track record of excellence in research, teaching, and publication, and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct art-historical research and publish high-quality articles and books
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Art History, including lectures, seminars, and field trips
  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to their own research areas of expertise
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review
  • Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and mentorship

Requirements

  • A PhD in art history or a related field
  • Demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a strong publication record and a well-developed plan for future research
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver excellent teaching
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • At the Associate Professor and Full Professor level: recognition in the research community, proven ability to secure research funding, demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum development, a strong track record of supervising students and research staff, and experience in leadership and/or service roles
