Job Overview

This position requires an experienced Field Service Engineer to perform service, repair, and maintenance tasks on heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

The role involves working independently or as part of a field service team in diverse environments, conducting customer visits, troubleshooting equipment issues, and promoting service contracts.

This is a challenging opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has excellent communication skills, and is comfortable working with complex machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Service Operations
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment at customer sites or in the workshop.
    • Demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams for complex fault analysis and breakdown resolution.
    • Offer expert-level advice on equipment usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Customer Engagement & Site Visits
    • Develop and maintain relationships with customers through regular site visits, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
    • Conduct equipment demonstrations, provide product knowledge, and handle customer inquiries.
  • Sales of Service Contracts & Maintenance Packages
    • Promote and sell service contracts, preventive maintenance packages, and repair services to new and existing clients.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services and resolve any customer concerns.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare detailed service reports, including job summaries, time spent, and materials used.
    • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including spare parts usage and inventory updates.
  • Asset & Equipment Management
    • Take ownership of company tools, service equipment, and vehicles assigned to you, ensuring proper usage, maintenance, and safe storage.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Adhere to all relevant safety standards, operational procedures, and housekeeping practices during service tasks.

Requirements for this role include a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 4-5 years of experience servicing heavy-duty machinery, and proficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams and hydraulic schematics.

Familiarity with industry-standard software, tools, and equipment is also essential.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience servicing heavy-duty machinery
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams and hydraulic schematics
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in industrial equipment
    • Demonstrated diagnostic and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Work Style: Capable of working independently or as part of a field service team
