Audio Visual Operations Specialist Role

The role requires a 5.5-day workweek, including weekends and occasional evenings and public holidays, with appropriate rest day and time-off-in-lieu granted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with end-users to identify technical needs and relevant hardware/software, resource allocation and team scheduling required
  • Provide audio visual & networking technical operations support for worship services and events
  • Set-up and tear-down of equipment before and after the respective worship services
  • Manage audio visual inventory - procurement, assembly, operation, maintenance, and upgrade of technical equipment

AV Development and Maintenance Support

  • Regularly assess the AV needs of the respective worship services and the church as a whole
  • Identify, engage, enable, upskill, and nurture lay volunteers for the various AV roles in the different worship services
  • Source, recommend, develop, evaluate, and implement tools, courses, materials, and technologies for lay volunteer AV teams
  • Track, inventories, and maintain up-to-date the relevant licenses and maintenance regimes for all relevant AV hardware and software
  • Implement and review AV strategies, structures, policies, workflows, standard operating procedures and documentation
  • Ad-hoc support with production of media (visuals, videos, music)

General Tasks and Duties

  • Effective communication and collaboration with congregation members, lay volunteers, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Execute all programs and activities with sound financial management
  • Execute all programs and activities in compliance with church policies and guidelines
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the pastors' office or the supervisor

Requirements:

  • Diploma, degree or postgraduate certification in the areas of worship, music, audio and visual production or other closely-related fields.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience and personal involvement in the areas of worship & music and/or AV production.
  • Proven knowledge and ability in technical elements of Audio-Visual systems and workflows
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and drive collaboration between different stakeholder groups.
  • Be an innovative team player who is self-motivated, pro-active and eager to learn.
  • Willingness and ability to leverage new technologies, where appropriate.
