Overview Clinical Psychologist (ANDS - Adult Neurodevelopmental Service) role at Institute of Mental Health. You will provide psychological services for inpatients, outpatients, and the community within the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service (ANDS) as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Senior Clinical Psychologists may provide leadership and assist in duties of subordinate staff as necessary. Position: Clinical Psychologist (ANDS - Adult Neurodevelopmental Service)Department: Psychology Job Description You will provide psychological services for both inpatients and/or outpatients within the psychiatric services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. For the positions of Senior Clinical Psychologists, you will provide leadership to subordinate levels of staff and participate in the duties of subordinate levels of staff as and when necessary. Responsibilities As a member of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, you will provide psychological services for inpatients, outpatients and the community within the ANDS. Where needed, your responsibilities include working on special community projects that involve providing clinical consultancy and training. You will be passionate about improving outcomes for adults with mental illness and intellectual disability and/or neurodevelopmental disorders through the use of evidence-based interventions. You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team members within the Adult Neurodevelopmental service and within IMH, adopting a transdisciplinary approach. Knowledge and theoretical background in working with challenging behaviours in the special needs population Assess behavioural problems and conduct behavioural interventions with patients presenting with behavioural problems Work closely with adults with mental health illness, behaviour problems, and/or intellectual disability, and/or adults with autistic spectrum disorder Be a team player within a multidisciplinary team with a transdisciplinary approach Assess suitability and conduct psychotherapies at inpatient, outpatient and community settings Conduct psychometric tests and write reports for clinical intervention and application Contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute's and department's framework Conduct teaching and training duties to colleagues from other disciplines within the multidisciplinary team and hospital Prepare training materials and deliver training to community partners in areas of behavioural and psychological interventions Provide clinical consultancy to community partners on client cases (clinical and behavioural assessment, intervention and management plans)Be readily deployed in other areas of work within the ANDS psychology team based on service needs Requirements Competency Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team Good interpersonal, social and communication skills; ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team Initiative, responsibility, openness to feedback, flexibility, and a positive learning attitude Empathy and interest in working with the special needs population (neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive and physical disabilities)Positive working attitude and ability to work well with team members Self-motivation, ability to adapt to changing service needs, multi-tasking and commitment Educational And Professional Requirements Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from an established university 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience preferred; fresh graduates with a Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology are encouraged to apply For the Senior Clinical Psychologist, preferably 5 to 8 years of working experience Previous experience with adults with intellectual disability, mental illness and/or neurodevelopmental disorder Experience with children, adolescents or adults with intellectual disability and autistic spectrum disorder is desirable Accreditation, registration or license for practice with a recognized psychological professional body is advantageous About IMH The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore, established in 1928, is a premier 2,000-bed psychiatric hospital located at Buangkok Green Medical Park.
