Be a Part of Something BIGThis is a Senior Specialist role within Singtel Singapore Cyber Operations Team responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats by developing and optimizing detection mechanisms for Singtel Singapore. The role reports to the Senior Director of Information Security. Make An Impact By Leading, designing, and developing on-premises and cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) defensive tools and procedures to optimize threat mitigation and improve security posture. Analyzing vulnerabilities and threats, engineering detection rules and signatures to identify malicious activity. Maintaining and optimizing SIEM use cases, ensuring high fidelity and low false-positive rates. Engineering threat detection methods and automations to defend against emerging threats from Generative AI and Quantum Computing. Performing regular tuning and testing of detection systems based on evolving threat landscapes. Designing and implementing security automation workflows on SOAR to enhance threat response efficiency. Collaborating with Threat Analysts to create actionable detection methodologies. Staying current with the latest threat intelligence and security trends to ensure our threat detection strategies remain effective. Supporting security incidents involving malware, data breaches, and other cyber threats; utilizing Generative AI and Automation for efficient analysis and containment. Updating the organisation’s threat profile and detection capability/coverage matrix with Threat Analysts. Providing regular reports on threat detection activities, metrics, and KPIs. Collaborating with Regulators and Government Agencies on cyber operations projects. Detecting, monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats 24x7 using SIEM and other security tools. Investigating security incidents involving malware infections, data breaches, and cyber threats. Collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence from compromised systems and networks. Collaborating with Threat Analysts to detect and analyze security events and alerts. Skills For Success Degree or higher in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant fields. Professional security management certifications such as CISSP, SANS, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a SOC or similar environment. At least 3 years of experience in threat detection engineering. Proficiency in Threat Detection Engineering, Security Monitoring Tools, Threat Analysis and Defense, Threat Detection and Response.
