Gut microbiota influences many areas of human health from immunity to energy metabolism and host physiology. The goal of our research group is to understand how bacterial metabolism, diet-microbe, and microbe-microbe interactions influence cardiometabolic disease using experimental approaches. The RF/SRF will lead a project, recently funded by MOE, that explores the protective mechanisms of butyrate-producing bacteria against atherosclerosis. This research will primarily involve molecular biology and pathophysiology using genetically modified mice.
Responsibilities:
Carry out an independent research project and collaborate with other researchers.Supervise junior members of the lab, including Ph D students and undergraduate interns.Keep a log of lab material and conduct safety management and data management as necessary.Present research at lab meetings andnational/internationalconferences.Requirements:
