Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring materials, equipment, and services for the organization. The successful candidate will possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, enabling them to work effectively in an independent capacity and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and procure suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Request quotations, evaluate offers, and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and update the approved vendor list.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services in line with project/department requirements.
Inventory Management Duties:
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments.
  • Guarantee proper storage, labelling, and handling of items to avoid damage or loss.
  • Store materials systematically to prevent damage, loss, or obsolescence.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records (manual or system-based).
Administrative & Reporting:
  • Generate purchasing and inventory reports for management.
  • Coordinate with accounting for invoice verification and payment to suppliers.
  • Highlight and track discrepancies in deliveries or quality issues or short supply.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of engineering/electrical parts is desirable.
  • Understanding of inventory control systems and management.
  • Basic accounting awareness.
  • Proven experience in procurement and/or inventory management.
