Product Controller APAC

We are seeking a skilled Product Controller to cover the physical recycled metals trading business. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the production and review of the daily Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, monthly balance sheet substantiation and review, and performance reporting.

The ideal candidate will have experience in product control processes, systems, and frameworks, as well as knowledge of the LME Base Metals market and physical trading. They should also possess excellent analytical and accounting skills, strong attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Accountabilities:
  • Preparation and review of daily P&L statements and related commentaries
  • Assistance with reviewing daily consolidated Group P&L
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Front Office and control areas, including Risk, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, and Operations
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet substantiation with supporting information for review by senior management
  • Improving or automating Product Control processes by designing automated solutions and collaborating with technology teams
  • Assistance with internal and external audit activities
  • Ensuring all Product Control activities are documented in sufficient detail and kept up-to-date

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Qualified accountant (or equivalent) preferred but not essential depending on experience
  • Deep understanding of product control processes, systems, and frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience of the LME Base Metals market and physical trading is essential
  • Excellent team player with good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with senior management and Front Office staff
