A Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting dishes that are both visually appealing and delicious. This involves weighing and measuring ingredients accurately, mixing and prepping ingredients according to recipes, and cooking meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients using various methods such as steaming, grilling, broiling, baking, or frying.

Additionally, a Cook must ensure that all food and ingredients used are fresh and of good quality, arranging and garnishing dishes to make them visually appealing, and working efficiently within time limits to meet customer demand.

Furthermore, a Cook plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by ensuring that equipment, utensils, and the kitchen area are cleaned and sanitized regularly.

Required Skills and Qualifications">
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary school 3 year degree or foreign equivalency preferred.
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
