Job Title

Water Treatment Specialist

Job Summary: This role is responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment systems to ensure safe and clean drinking water for communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain water treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, and disinfection systems;
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of water quality to ensure compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Maintain accurate records of water quality data and treatment processes;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve water treatment processes;
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date on the latest water treatment technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in water treatment operations or a related field;
  • Knowledge of water treatment principles and processes, including chemistry and microbiology;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field;
  • Certification as a Water Treatment Operator (CTO) or similar certification;
  • Experience with computerized control systems and automation software;
  • Fluency in a second language.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a variety of environments, including offices, laboratories, and outdoor settings. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods is required. Work may be performed in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
