Job Title: Senior Manager, Subsea Cable Engineering

Key Responsibilities
The primary objective of this role is to lead and manage Keppel submarine cable infrastructure projects. This encompasses diverse activities, including planning new subsea cable projects through secure and practical routes that meet stakeholders' needs and customer demands.

• Evaluate industry trends, proven state-of-the-art technology, cost optimization, future-proofing, and optimum fiber pair count to convert business requirements into detailed engineering specifications.
• Conduct desktop studies to evaluate the optimum cable route by engaging with relevant vendors, driving Invitation to Tender processes, and capturing the Cable owners/Joint Build Partners' requirements.
• Adjudicate and select vendors based on various evaluation metrics and develop and finalize supply contracts with close coordination with internal legal teams and stakeholders.

Project Implementation
Work closely with submarine cable vendors and partners to drive the implementation of submarine cable systems, including design, manufacturing, and installation activities.

• Collaborate with landing service providers, vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure purchasers' deliverable items are made ready on target timelines, which includes formulation and execution of agreements from a technical perspective.
• Regularly follow up to get all activities completed on time and provide necessary support to customers, as well as coordination with suppliers.

Customer Experience and Relationship Management
This position serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for customers and partners on the implementation of subsea cable projects.

• Conduct periodic review meetings with partners/customers/stakeholders and vendors/providers to discuss performance, issues, and related action items.
• Travel may be required within or outside regions to assist at various sites. Good communication skills are essential.
• Project and operations activities often require after-hours coordinated activity and/or unplanned after-hours accessibility involving customer-specific tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision in a non-structured environment is required.

Requirements
For this role, you should have:
• A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication).
• At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in submarine cable operations or submarine cable projects.
• Proven experience in driving submarine cable projects, especially in conceptualization, design, vendor selection, contract forming, and project implementation stages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to set priorities, recognize basic causes, and recommend problem solutions that meet practical business needs.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and balanced interpersonal style; a team player able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
