Senior Cybersecurity Operations Specialist Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing secure system architecture that embeds security principles to protect infrastructure and information assets from evolving cyber threats.

This position involves working with a team of cybersecurity experts to safeguard systems against cyber attacks and threats. The candidate must possess strong technical competency and effective communication skills to engage stakeholders.

  • Develop architecture requirements and maintain oversight of infrastructure design
  • Design security controls and systems in alignment with security guidelines
  • Assist in testing and evaluation of new security technologies and controls
  • Recommend security products, services and procedures to enhance system designs
  • Document the design, operation, use and expected outputs of new systems
  • Conduct research on modern security software architectures and network design best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement new enterprise security architecture, technologies and enhancements
  • Identify techniques to scale up and automate security infrastructure and processes
  • Resolve issues arising in the implementation of new security systems
  • Monitor security systems for strengths and weaknesses and propose improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of administration experience
  • Strong technical competency and effective communication skills
  • Experience in infrastructure design, network security and security administration
  • Knowledge of firewall, web application firewall, VPN, email security gateway, web security and other relevant technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security technology certification from vendors
  • Experience in cloud security and mobile device management
