Job Overview

The IT System Development Senior Project Manager role involves leading and managing the full software development lifecycle for banking system development or implementation projects. This position requires strong project management experience, excellent analytical and conceptualization skills, and a solid understanding of cybersecurity and Zero Trust Architecture.

This is a key leadership position that demands strategic thinking, effective communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.

The IT System Development Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, initiating, managing, leading, and executing system consulting and development projects. Key responsibilities include approach and plan definition, status tracking, issue and risk identification and resolution, resource planning, and governance execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Plan, initiate, manage, lead, and execute system consulting and development projects.
  • Status Tracking and Issue Resolution: Approach and plan definition, status tracking, issue and risk identification and resolution.
  • Resource Management: Resource planning, governance execution.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Grasp the plan and situation, create, and explain report materials.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience: Directing and managing project development from initiation to completion.
  • Cybersecurity Expertise: Strong background in cybersecurity in finance markets or finance companies.
  • Microsoft Azure Experience: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Entra ID / Azure AD, PIM).
  • Microsoft Defender Experience: Experience with Microsoft Defender products.
  • Zscaler Solutions Experience: Experience operating Zscaler solutions (e.g., ZIA, ZPA).
  • Language Skills: Able to communicate in business-level Japanese in reading, writing, and speaking to communicate with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Teamwork and Self-Driven: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and highly self-driven and enthusiastic, capable of working effectively with teams of varying IT skill levels and cultural backgrounds.
  • Project Planning: Ability to manage project planning for all short-, medium-, and long-term.
  • Analytical and Conceptualization Skills: Strong analytical and conceptualization skills to develop solutions for complex business challenges.
  • Industry Knowledge: Banking operations or systems knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Scripting and Automation: Scripting and automation using PowerShell / CLI.
  • Zero Trust Architecture and Security Best Practices: Solid understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and security best practices.
