Quantum Error Correction Engineer
We are seeking a skilled professional to design and implement syndrome decoding capabilities for various quantum error correction schemes in our flagship platform, Loom.
As a Quantum Error Correction Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating decoding algorithms into the library's simulation pipeline and collaborating with the hardware team to test, benchmark, and optimize performance on real or emulated quantum hardware.
Our ideal candidate has a strong background in quantum error correction and syndrome decoding methods, experience with surface codes, color codes, and/or quantum LDPC codes, and proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, or networkx.
- Strong knowledge of quantum error correction and syndrome decoding methods.
- Experience with surface codes, color codes, and/or quantum LDPC codes.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, or networkx.
- Familiarity with quantum computing frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, Stim, PyMatching).
- Demonstrated experience working with Git and large, collaborative codebases.
Key Requirements:
- Research experience in syndrome decoding algorithms or related areas.
- Contributions to open-source quantum computing projects.
- Experience with performance optimization for real-time or near-real-time decoding.
