Job Title: Montessori Learning Guide

This role requires an individual who can create a safe and orderly environment in the classroom.

  • Classroom Management: The successful candidate will be able to lead a model Montessori classroom with an inviting, safe and orderly environment.
  • Supervision: Ensuring constant supervision and safety of children while maintaining city-mandated teacher-to-child ratios is a crucial aspect of this position.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with Assistant Guides to deliver a high-quality Montessori learning experience is essential.
  • Lessons: Delivering Montessori lessons in a thoughtful, sequential manner aligned with Guidepost Montessori training standards is a key responsibility.
  • Observation: Observing and documenting each child's development, strengths and interests to tailor support according to Montessori principles is vital.
  • Communication: Engaging with children in a warm, respectful and joyful way that nurtures independence and confidence is required.
  • Feedback: Applying constructive feedback from fellow Lead Guides, your Montessori Mentor and the Head of School to enhance classroom practices is necessary.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with your Mentor, Head of School and peers to address student challenges is an important part of this role.
  • Community: Welcoming parents and staff into the classroom for tours and observations is a key aspect of this position.
Deliver Excellent Parent Communication and Support:
  • Parental Involvement: Maintaining regular, personalized communication with parents using approved platforms is crucial.
  • Progress Updates: Providing structured feedback on each child's progress through parent-teacher conferences, progress reports and/or portfolio presentations is essential.
  • Meetings: Meeting with parents individually to address concerns or support developmental goals is required.
Contribute to a Vibrant School Community:
  • Staff Meetings: Attending and actively participating in staff meetings, one-on-one mentoring sessions and ongoing professional development is important.
  • Community Events: Supporting school community events including classroom celebrations, parent education sessions and outreach activities is a key aspect of this role.
Qualifications:
  • Language: Fluency in English or Mandarin is required.
  • Education: A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential.
  • Certification: Possessing a MACTE-accredited Montessori Diploma (AMI or AMS preferred) is necessary.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience working with children aged 2-6 years is required.
  • Passion: A deep passion for Montessori education and philosophy is vital.
  • Mindset: A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills is essential.
