The successful candidate will be part of the CITIES OF TOMORROW (CoT) R&D project for VERTICAL 5: CITY IN NATURE, which aims to ensure a resilient urban environment against climate change and contribute to NTU's strategic research in Resilient Urbanisation & Natural Ecosystems.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Research Associate to assist in various tasks, including field and laboratory tests, 3D model development, data compilation, analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, physics, and software proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting field and laboratory tests to collect data on sustainable built environments.
  • Develop 3D models of trees to enhance visualization and simulation capabilities.
  • Compile and maintain a database of test data to support research efforts.
  • Conduct analysis and numerical modelling to inform decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, reports, and papers to communicate findings.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of physics and proficiency in constructing 3D models.
  • Competent in knowledge of software like MSOffice, Python, 3DF Zephyr, or equivalent.
  • Possess a Class 3 driving license (Singapore) and ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Experience working with local industry players and adaptability to field conditions.
  • Good written and oral communication skills for report writing.
  • Journal publication record.
