About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer, TikTok Search to join our team in London. As a key contributor to our search engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance search systems that power TikTok's user experience.

  • Design and implement efficient search indexing and retrieval mechanisms
  • Develop and deploy scalable search platforms that meet performance and stability requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate search functionality into TikTok's consumer-facing applications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Industry experience in building consumer-facing search products, with expertise in search algorithms and data structures
  • Strong coding skills, data structure knowledge, and basic algorithm expertise
  • Good team communication and collaboration skills
