We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated professional to join our team as a Stroke Recovery Advocate. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for stroke survivors and their caregivers.

As a Stroke Recovery Advocate, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting community outreach and assessments to identify seniors who may benefit from our services.
  • Providing regular befriending services to vulnerable seniors, including monitoring their well-being and connecting them with relevant care services when necessary.
  • Contributing to volunteer role design, recruitment, training, deployment, engagement, and appreciation.

You will also be responsible for planning and managing wellness programs for stroke survivors and active ageing programs for seniors. This will involve collaborating with community partners, such as healthcare professionals and volunteers, to organize activities like roadshows, talks, and wellness workshops.

Additionally, you will be maintaining databases and generating reports for submission. A key aspect of this role is working independently as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve our goals.

To be successful in this position, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience working in a similar field. Your ability to manage projects effectively and coordinate events will also be highly valued. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Gerontology, Community Health, Sports & Exercise Science or related field preferred;
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and knowledge of community health issues desirable;
  • Excellent project management, event coordination, and communication skills;
  • Familiarity with database management systems and reporting tools;
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
