Job Title: Electrical Vessel Designer

As a skilled Naval Architect, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and designing innovative fully electric vessels. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring these vessels meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable maritime solutions that address evolving market demands. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the vessel lifecycle from design and construction to maintenance and retrofitting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support the end-to-end design of fully electric vessels, focusing on hull form optimization, structural and outfitting plans.
  • Create and adapt designs for various vessel types, including river cruises, launch boats, ferries, tugs, and workboats.
  • Develop 2D/3D models and detailed production drawings using CAD software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Maxsurf.
  • Integrate electric propulsion systems into vessel architecture with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Modify and customize existing hull designs for performance, safety, and aesthetics.
Technical Expertise:
  • Perform hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, structural, and stability analyses tailored to electric propulsion constraints.
  • Analyze resistance, propulsion, and maneuverability to optimize vessel efficiency and operational cost.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and classification standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MPA, BV, DNV).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 2 to 6 years' experience in vessel design, preferably with exposure to electric propulsion or sustainable maritime technologies.
  • Proven ability to apply technical skills using CAD software and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of classification society requirements and international maritime regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to design challenges.
