Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team at 3160 KLA-Tencor (Singapore). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Procurement
    • Purchase materials, components, and equipment as driven by the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system or reorder point system.
    • Determine materials requirements from engineering and production schedules, and maintain inventory at planned levels.
    • Drive assurance of supply to production by prompt execution of MRB materials, drive supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance, and timely execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage cost by reviewing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) pricing of materials, MRB rework cost, and minimizing unnecessary spend on expedited freight cost and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
    • Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned supply base to assure best quality at best value.
    • Perform excess and obsolescence functions to minimize company risk.
  • Vendor Management
    • Gather quotations, examine bids, and make awards; and develop specifications for new contract orders.
    • Evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  • Process Improvement
    • Participate in supplier scorecard process – providing feedback and following up on action plans on cost, lead-time, delivery performance, and response.
    • Well-versed in system and process and go-to person as subject matter expertise in Purchasing function.
    • Define and develop process when none is available.
  • Training and Development
    • Create training material (regular retraining & job aids, FAQ) & roll-out, as needed.
    • Highlight if there are projects & timelines limitations.
  • System Setup and Data Cleansing
    • Work on system setup and data cleansing.
    • Perform and Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cut over, and Go Live as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and Support
    • Help to troubleshoot and address issues by raising enhancement/incident tickets and follow up on resolutions.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
    • Experience
      • Minimum 3 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience.
    • Skills
      • Experience in SAP system and proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Team player, self-driven, and able to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.
      • Ability to work with a variety of offshore locations.
      • Knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concepts.
      • Able to work independently towards achieving company/group objectives.
      • Experience in low volume high mix and a DFT/pull manufacturing environment a plus.
      • Experience in driving project and process improvement in purchasing functions.
