Scientist Position in Time-Domain Astronomy

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position in the field of time-domain astronomy. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Assistant Professor Marc Hon and contribute to cutting-edge research.
The successful candidate will develop and apply modern machine learning methods to analyze large-scale astronomical datasets. The research directions will be flexible and shaped according to mutual interests, including stellar variability, exoplanets, transient phenomena, and the discovery of new astrophysical events.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- PhD in Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong analytical and computational skills in data science, statistical analysis, or machine learning.
- Proficiency with Python and data analysis frameworks.
- Familiarity with large, complex datasets and modern computational techniques.
- Good written and oral scientific communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience conducting independent research involving the analysis of large datasets.
A cover letter outlining research interests and relevant experience, curriculum vitae including a full list of publications, and a brief description of research interests should be submitted along with contact information of three referees who can provide letters of recommendation.
