Postdoctoral Research Scientist
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research scientist to join our team at the National University of Singapore. The successful candidate will develop and apply advanced data analysis methods to the study of large-scale astronomical datasets, with a focus on time-domain astronomy.
Research directions will be flexible and tailored to the interests of the candidate. Potential areas include stellar variability, exoplanet detection, transient phenomena, and the discovery of new astrophysical events.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline, and demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets. Familiarity with modern machine learning methods and proficiency in Python and data analysis frameworks is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent research involving the analysis of large datasets.
- Develop and apply advanced data analysis methods to solve complex problems in astronomy and astrophysics.
- Collaborate with our team to advance our understanding of the universe and contribute to the development of new scientific knowledge.
Requirements:
- PhD in Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong analytical and computational skills in data science, statistical analysis, or machine learning.
- Proficiency in Python and data analysis frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets.
