About the Role

The successful candidate will assist and support the Fleet Digitalization Senior Manager in business development and management of maintenance and upgrading services for shipboard IT, navigation, and communication systems, and shipboard digitalization projects.

This role will support the Senior Manager in business development, operation, and service management as follows:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Handling client inquiries from quotation to closing, ensuring seamless communication and timely resolution.
  2. Coordinating with vendors and clients to ensure smooth completion of projects, maintaining strong relationships and resolving any issues that may arise.
  3. Liaising with system vendors and clients to monitor shipboard digitalization and AI projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  4. Studying and developing shipboard digitalization and AI projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
  5. Visiting clients, vendors, and ships on behalf of the Senior Manager, as required, to ensure effective communication and project management.
  6. Reviewing specifications and drawings for IT, navigation, and communication systems and equipment for newbuildings and upgrades, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience with a ship owner or ship manager, or a shipyard, or with makers, vendors, or repair and service companies.
  2. Experience in relevant equipment repair, upgrading/retrofitting for shipboard IT, navigation, and communication systems is essential.
  3. Experience and knowledge in digitalization and AI application is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. A team player with excellent communication skills.
  2. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  3. Degree/Diploma in IT, Marine, or Electronics.
  4. Relevant sailing experience as a 2nd officer, preferred.
