Job Title: Large-Scale Data Centre Migration Specialist

Overview:

Seeking an experienced professional to lead and manage a large-scale Data Centre Migration Project involving the transition of close to 10,000 virtual machines from a current incumbent technology provider to two new technology providers, within a hypervisor-based environment.

  • Lead and manage migration of physical servers, storage, network equipment and appliances between Data Centres.
  • Oversee the two vendor migration tracks, based on a workload distribution ratio of approximately between the two platforms, ensuring clear accountability, progress tracking, and vendor performance management.
  • Drive the project across its full lifecycle (estimated 2.5 years), covering planning, infrastructure design, build, cutover, and post-migration stabilization, in compliance with industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  2. Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a seamless data centre migration strategy.
  3. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of services and high-quality outcomes.
  4. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, addressing concerns and issues promptly.
