Role Overview:

We are seeking a brilliant Legal Counsel to join our exciting in-house environment. This is a chance to be at the heart of our operations, providing essential legal support and advice to everyone from senior business leaders to sales and administration teams across the APAC region.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in commercial contract law and experience working with commercial disputes and claims, along with knowledge of associated legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide commercial legal advice, including negotiating contracts and non-disclosure agreements, responding to internal legal queries, and getting involved in customer negotiations.
  • Manage disputes from start to finish, including debt claims with credit control and sales admin teams, small claims litigation, and engaging with external debt collection agencies and legal advisers.
  • Assist with corporate/M&A activities, specifically helping with post-acquisition onboarding for M&A deals and coordinating with external resources.
  • Keep us compliant by staying on top of relevant Telecoms, IoT, and other regulatory requirements specific to the APAC region.
  • Help maintain our intellectual property and copyright, including assisting with our trademark portfolio and handling other IP issues.
  • Support the Group Data Protection Officer with data protection tasks, including data impact assessments, incident reports, customer queries, and ensuring compliance with data protection laws relevant to APAC jurisdictions.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility to practice law in an APAC jurisdiction or qualification in another common law jurisdiction with substantial experience in APAC commercial law.
  • Commercial contract law and experience working with commercial disputes and claims, along with knowledge of associated legal processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Fluent in English and ideally one or more major APAC languages.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and caseloads like a pro.
  • Strong legal research skills and a genuine desire to develop your understanding of the law, particularly within the diverse APAC legal landscape.
