Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Technology Innovator to join our team. As a Senior Principal Researcher, you will be accountable for fundamental research into technologies that will form the basis for future high-power products. Your role will encompass research and prototyping of leading-edge power system technologies, proof of concept designs, design simulations, patent applications, whitepapers, scholarly articles, and technology presentation materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team in identifying new technologies that can be perfected for introduction to our Advanced Technology teams for conversion to working platforms within defined requirements.
  • Work across functional teams to assess whether proposed technology can meet product specifications, cost targets, schedules, etc.
  • Provide technology leadership and make decisions on how to solve technical problems encountered during research and prototyping phases.
  • Design support and issue resolution during the handoff period between the Singapore Research Centre and the Advanced Technology Teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters Degree or recent Ph.D. in power systems or power electronics.
  • 7 years design experience for Masters degree, 2 years design experience for PhD degree, in high power circuits and topologies related to power supply design (Rack Server, OBC, EVFC, HVDC, Solid State Transformer concepts, etc.), and independent project design leadership experience.
  • Strong Power electronics / power supply design knowledge, and deep understanding about popular topologies such as Totem-pole PFC, Vienna PFC, T-NPC, ANPC, flyback, LLC, CLLC, DAB, etc.
  • Solid magnetics design skill and experience.
  • Familiar with AC/DC PSU EMC and Safety regulations, familiar with engineering simulation tools such as MatchCAD, SIMetrix, PSIM, PADs.
  • Self-motivated, passionate work, excellent teamwork.
  • Competent English skills, Chinese language skills a benefit.
