Mission

IBA, a global leader in proton therapy, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for innovating and developing cutting-edge automation solutions for our proton therapy systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the analysis of automation projects and the definition of hardware and software specifications.
  • Develop software by analyzing, programming, testing, and putting into service related control systems.
  • Ensure project documentation is in line with our internal QMS procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide high-level technical support after system start-up.

Requirements

  • Degree in Automation Engineering or Industrial IT.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operation, support, and development.
  • PLC programming skills (Siemens STEP7 and TIA Portal, B&R).
  • Communication skills in English and French.
  • Based in Louvain-La-Neuve, open to travel internationally for short missions.

Nice to Have

  • SCADA programming in Wonderware Archestra, Wonderware InTouch, B&R Visual Component.
  • Industrial IT programming (.Net, Python, SQL, Web).
  • Programming of Safety PLC (Siemens; B&R).
  • Good understanding of Industrial communications based on Profibus-DP, PROFINET, ModbusTCP, S7, OPC-UA, and other industrial protocols.
  • Knowledge of motor drivers and motion systems (SEW, Schneider Electric, B&R).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
  • Knowledge of VMWare environment (ESX, Workstation).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite.
