The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our teaching and research labs, ensuring the smooth operation and safety of both teaching and central research laboratories.

  • About the Role:
  • This role requires close collaboration with academic, technical and research staff, as well as students, to achieve our goals.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory operations and be able to design, modify and set up undergraduate teaching experiments.
  • The candidate will also be responsible for supporting faculty, research staff and students in carrying out their research activities, including operating, maintaining and training on common lab equipment.
  • In addition, the candidate will guide new and inexperienced users in operating laboratory equipment and support the manager in performing diagnostic tests and in-house repair processes.
  • The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring adequate lab consumables and managing purchasing of materials and inventory control.
  • Liaising with suppliers on equipment setup, repair and maintenance is also a key responsibility of this role.
  • The candidate will maintain good laboratory housekeeping and safe laboratory practices, and carry out strategic proposals and track expenses associated with lab equipment and consumables.
  • Finally, the candidate will support students' technical projects and lab tours.
