Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Specialist Job Overview

The Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft at airports. This position entails performing various ground support activities such as marshalling, towing, and installing/remove wheel chocks and grounding cables.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Aircraft Docking Guidance System (ADGS) and manual marshalling of aircraft to ensure safe aircraft movement on the ramp area.
  • Inspecting bays regularly to prevent Foreign Object Debris (FOD) from causing damage or injury.
  • Installing/remove wheel chocks and grounding cables to prepare aircraft for pushback or towing operations.
  • Connecting/disconnecting tow bar to the air tug to enable safe towing of aircraft.

In addition to these duties, the specialist will also be responsible for delivering ground support equipment including maintenance steps to ensure smooth airport operations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • NITEC in Engineering or equivalent with 1 year of working experience in Airline industries is preferred.
  • Comfortable with 12 hours shift work arrangement.
  • Candidate with LTA Class 3/4/5 license will have added advantage.
