Stamford American International School seeks a highly skilled and motivated Relief Teacher to join our vibrant Middle School team. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about delivering high-quality education and creating a positive learning environment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the school's vision through the objectives of the MYP program, engaging students from diverse backgrounds in the AERO standards, and fostering a culture of academic excellence and well-being.

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning and character development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and expertise, ensuring seamless transitions between grade levels and subjects.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching children in a relevant setting.
  • IB/MYP experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Advisory/Pastoral experience is also desirable.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills, with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good references available upon request.
  • Proficiency in using school databases, communications platforms, and educational technology.
  • Demonstration of the Stamford Values: Courage, Ingenuity, Compassion, Integrity.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must hold:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Teacher Certification.
  • A Master's degree in Education is preferred but not required.
