We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Singapore. This role is integral to the successful execution of structured finance and debt transactions across Asia.

Job Purpose

This position involves providing strategic advice, managing transaction documentation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective legal advice on transaction management requirements to product groups, including structuring of transactions, negotiation of documents, liaising with internal stakeholders and managing transactions to completion.
  • Utilise expertise to make independent judgments to deal with various situations, with supervision from senior colleagues where appropriate.

Documentation Review & Negotiation

  • Assist with review and negotiation of deal-specific legal documentation (NDAs, NRLs, mandate letters, term sheets, loan agreements and security documentation) to ensure the Bank's position is preserved while managing commercial relationships.

External Counsel Management

  • Instruct and supervise external counsel on transactional and advisory matters, in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Internal Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support and guide team members as required, and co-ordinate with internal stakeholders within Singapore and regionally.
  • Act as a point of contact for originators and other internal stakeholders to facilitate issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Law degree holder from a recognised university with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Progressive experience in providing legal advice on matters and transaction management services, with knowledge of banking functions and financial regulatory requirements.
  • Able to apply knowledge to produce value-added results, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with stakeholder and people management skills to deliver effective processes and solutions.
  • Proactive, independent and resourceful, able to work under time constraints and pressure.
