Freight Commodities Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Freight Commodities Specialist to manage and promote the sale of dry cargo vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth, expand client base, and build lasting relationships across international markets.
  • Source and offer high-quality handy-size tonnage to clients, shippers, and charterers, while providing expert market insights to inform strategic positioning.
  • Negotiate spot and time charters, securing optimal returns for owners through a combination of commercial acumen and technical expertise.
  • Analyze market trends, FFA curves, time-charter equivalents, vessel supply-demand dynamics, and macroeconomic indicators to inform trade strategy and client advice.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary or degree qualification in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the Handy market.
  • Proven ability to pair market analysis with commercial negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Python, R, Power BI, and other analytical tools.
  • Fluency in English and native Chinese to communicate effectively with Chinese stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They should also be proficient in MS Office, Python, R, Power BI, and other analytical tools.
